Washington DC Layover

Hola me loves! It's been awhile since my last article regarding Crew Layovers (Sorry!) As you see, your homegirl has been quite busy --- ok! not so busy, but uhhh, so sorry, haha! Couldn't find any excuse for my long absence, please don't be mad, I do hope that we're still cool though (so we cool?haha) bueno --- Vamos Empiezar (Let's start!)

It was a long haul flight going to DC, flight duration was 12hrs flying time, pheww!! imagine how exhausting that flight was! As usual, didn't get enough sleep right before the flight, since the pick up time schedule for our flight was 3:35AM, so I had to wake up like an hour and 30 mins before our pick up time to get ready, and prepare some of my stuff. Though we usually have a 4-hour rest on the flight, I've got to admit that I'm one of those very unlucky people who don't get to fall asleep easily.

We stayed in Sheraton Premiere Hotel in DC, My flying partner and I decided to just have some rest for a while, due to over fatigue --- I'm over acting--haha! Let's just say that I was a bit dizzy, due to lack of sleep and girl! try working for like 12 hours, 34,000 feet above sea level, and you tell me how you'd feel. ahaha.. Ok, let's just consider it as a mini-fatigue?? If that's even a word (wenk!wenk!)

We went out 2 hours after arriving from the hotel, We don't have much plans on that day though, So we just decided to go out to a Nearby Thai Restaurant and went to Walmart right after. I have a sweet tooth, and it's Walmart for Pete's sake! Your girl, didn't have much power to resist on the yummy Jelly Beans and Airheads ( Sorry, don't have photos for them, 'gawked them all before remembering to take some pictures. haha)

Growing up, from being a teenager, I had a sensitive and acne prone skin, and with that having said, I have to be very careful about the cosmetics that I have to apply on my face for me not to break out --- I know it's not that much advisable to use makeups and stuff with a sensitive skin condition like mine, but since makeup is a necessity on my job, so it's really a must.

These are one of the few best drugstore makeups that I can truly rave about! As these foundations are really effective when it comes to coverage, consistency, and texture. But the best thing about these products is that it is TRULY SUITED FOR SKIN TYPES LIKE MINE. (before choosing any foundations or products, make sure to search for reviews on the internet first, as you see, we all have different skin types, these products work great for me, but not for the ones who have a different skin type. If y'all want an honest and thorough review, try visiting www.makeupalley.com for reference if you'd like to check on a product you'd like to purchase)

We went back to the hotel right after Walmart and hit the sack at 8 in the evening! ha! ahhaa. 'woke up at 6 in the morning and got hungry, Thank God! 'was able to buy a salad from walmart that night.

'Went down on the lobby at 7:30 in the morning, and had our breakfast on the Buffet. luckily, the hotel provides a free shuttle going to the train station and some other malls a few distance from the hotel. We rode the train station from Spring Hill to Smithsonian Station. We had the 1 day pass card for like $14.99usd

(It wasn't my first time coming here, I used to be a participant on a summer-exchange-student-program 5 yrs ago during college, it's nice to go back--- and experience nostalgia.)

First stop, is the restroom! rofl, we really have to use the toilet for some reason as the travel time spent on the metro station lasted for 36mins. k, enough with grossing you out...

The very posh cathedral-esque looking Smithsonian Institution Building (The Castle)

National Museum (1879)

Truly, it was a different feeling going here in Air and Space Museum, from a student (5 years ago) to someone who is now working in the Aviation Industry, 'got more excited with aircrafts than with spaceships, I know it's very bizarre!

The Wright Brothers

(Sorry for this awful lighting, 'took several different shots
for this spot, but the lighting was just horrible)

('Forgot what kind of an Airbus Mock up this aircraft model was)

(For those aspiring Astronauts out there! It's never too late --
May the force be with you!!)

The breathtaking United States Capitol

It was chilly and a bit drizzling the last time I went here 5 years ago. I don't enjoy the cold weather that much -- but it's summer season this time, and girl! I need myself some additional Spf! The umbrella isn't giving me too much shade. And we were walking all throughout the area, and it ain't just a nearby distance, it's like acres of sweat! i mean land, or area? sorry, haha.

'Got so hungry, 'Thank the Lord for the nearby food truck!

(Look! They have a Sponge Bob Popsicle!)

Got me some Ice cream Drumstick and some Hotdog Sandwhich

Here's a picture of my 1/3 remaining Hotdog Sandwhich. haha!

Okay, I'm not allergic to heat and all but man! it was like a battle field with the sun and smithsonian's distance parameters (yess!!!ahaha) while walking across the field is killing. 'Beat the heat with this!!!

I had cherry, Raechel got Lemonade

Was the tint visible??

World War II Memorial

Go Philippines!!! Yaaayyy!!

Taking a break from the sun's heatwave
(wenk!wenk!)

Right when our Smithsonian Agenda was over, we hopped off at Tyson's Station, and went to the  mall. Again, we got hungry ( damn walking took all my energy, 'girl needs to recharge) 'Went to eat at 5 GUYS! And it sure was very Oiillyyy??

The cabin in the aircraft is very drying, with that said, we have to moisturize -- most specially our hands, as we would often wash our hands alot using the very drying hand soap that fleet service usually provides
Good thing Bath and Body works' on sale :)

We went back to the hotel after the Mall escapade, and I've got to say, that I really enjoyed Washington alot. An and Ria's #Firstflight

'First saw this clip in www.firsts.com, as it features 2 old people ( An & Ria)  about their very first flight ever in their entire life! I super enjoyed watching every bits of this clip, old people can be soo cute!!! Hehe.

FIRST LAYOVER IN GENEVA

Hello! It's been a while since my recent post, your home girl has been quite busy (hehe, sorry!) 'Just had a recent trip in Geneva Switzerland, and it was your home girl's first time! The flying time went for like 6hrs and 20mins to be exact, 'flying on an Airbus 320 with just 5 crews + 2 cockpits.

An awesome view of Mount Everest from the Aircraft Window

I was the most junior though :( The crew that I flew with had been to GVA a couple of times and had their moments to enjoy the spots, I've been begging one of them to come go out with me on our layover but she keeps on finding some excuses 'OOH, CARLA, WE'LL SEE' ( yeah right!) haha. And ze 2 other girls? hehe. hmm, let's just say that they keep things on their own, one's from batch 1991 (geeez! I was 2 when she started flying on our Airline) and she was born on 1967, and no, I'm not an eaves dropper silly! 'accidentally saw it on her passport when she took out hers during the briefing, hehe. and the other girl is batch 1999 --- and I'm from batch 2012 (You do the Math -- rolls eyes. haha)

I was soo excited once we arrived in Geneva, Like you can easily see the excitement on my face ( Sorry no picture for that.hehe)

We checked in at Grand Kempinski Hotel ...

It's a very good thing that the hotel encourages guests to go out and explore their city, as they provide free tickets/pass (whatever it's called) for a boat ride going to the other side of the lake (trying to save electric bill perhaps? hmmm? ahahha. Don't mind me, I'm crazzy!)

Right after freshening up, and changing my uniform for a casual wear, 'Went to my colleague's room to ask her if she finally made up her mind to go out (BY THE WAY, THEY SPEAK FRENCH IN GENEVA, NOT EVERYONE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH, PLUS IT'S MY FIRST TIME, I WAS BEGGING HER  IF WE COULD JUST GO OUT FOR LIKE 2 HRS, JUST 2 HRS TO EXPLORE GENEVA FOR LIKE 2 STRAIGHT DAYS NOW-- CONSTANTLY ON THE FLIGHT. 'NEVER WENT OUT ON A LAYOVER ALONE, SO I WAS LIKE BEGGING HER TO COME WITH ME, AND SHE WAS LIKE --- "SORRY MY DEAR, BUT I'M NOT FEELING REALLY WELL" ugh! you could have just told me that you got no plans on going out because you really don't feel like it, plus your trolley only contains "A" pair of pajamas that will last you for 3 poop-y days. ooh stress ka te!)

'Remembered what my mom told me not to go out alone, most specially that it was my very first time on that country --- But my rebel side just took charge at that moment and I was like 'I AM GOING OUT' , and the other crew was shocked, responded with 'JUST YOU? BUT YOU ARE ALONE' answered her back with 'YEAH JUST ME CUZ YOU'RE NO GOOD FOR FUN' just kidding, ahhaa. answered her back with 'YEAH JUST ME'  smiled. then went off.

I remember having second thoughts --- to back out once I was at the hotel lobby, ohh well There's always a first time for everything :)

So, uhh-- it was very hard for me to take photos and selfies (lol) since no one's with me, BUT I DID TRY TO ASK PEOPLE TO TAKE PHOTOS FOR ME, BUT IT WAS A TOTAL FAIL, IF THE PIC AIN'T BLURRY, THEN MY EYES ARE CLOSED, OR FINGER'S STICKING OUT ON THE SCREEN, I DON'T HAVE THE NERVE TO BE LIKE 'no, one more time, you didn't take the picture right' (That's rude, so i took videos instead

This is the boat ride that I've been telling ya ..

Boat ride from Paquis to Molard

Luckily, there were some Filipinos who are working in the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION on that trip (Thank God!) they get to stay in Geneva for just 3wks as they are on a conference that happens yearly. After the boat ride, they guided me about the whereabouts on the area.

'Followed their advice about the old town, and look at the stuff that I saw! Geneva is a combination of Roma and Germany, based on my observation. I mean the architecture plus the cultural atmosphere of their landscapes. (Yesss!! Carla Javier Domingo --Major in Pa- cute and Architecture. Wenk! Wenk)

Most of the flight attendants that I know always have their picture taken on the Flower Clock as the highlight of their visit in Geneva, and as a person who has respects for traditions, I also want to have my picture taken on the most loved Flower Clock of the crews in our airline (wenk, wenk) Believe me, I was very excited to see its beauty. It's like a must have on my checklist on Geneva, lol.

Here are a few spots before reaching "THE" Flower Clock ...

Gargoyle? in the flesh!--no wait, in the cement! yeah! ahaha. wenk, wenk!

And now, presenting -- Ze famous and OVER RATED Flower Clock! (drumrolls please?)

TADAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

A bit disapointed though :( But hey! on the brighter side, there's a tall ROLEX building right infront of the flower clock. haha. Aaaaahhhh ROLEX, see u in my dreams. ahhaha

Since I failed on taking pictures of myself with the tourist spots, 'Managed to have a selfie. (oha! ako pa!) hihi

I looked weird here though

Now here's a short clip about the scenery that I have to pass by as I go back to the hotel ..

I am very vain by nature, so please do forgive me for leaving this article with another selfie that I had when I reached my home base from Geneva- Jeddah. hihi.

ONCE AGAIN, THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY BLOG GUYS!! xx

So what do you look for in a girl?

--SO OUT OF WORDS FOR THIS YOUTUBE VID. 'JUST SAYS IT ALL :)
