An awesome view of Mount Everest from the Aircraft Window
I was the most junior though :( The crew that I flew with had been to GVA a couple of times and had their moments to enjoy the spots, I've been begging one of them to come go out with me on our layover but she keeps on finding some excuses 'OOH, CARLA, WE'LL SEE' ( yeah right!) haha. And ze 2 other girls? hehe. hmm, let's just say that they keep things on their own, one's from batch 1991 (geeez! I was 2 when she started flying on our Airline) and she was born on 1967, and no, I'm not an eaves dropper silly! 'accidentally saw it on her passport when she took out hers during the briefing, hehe. and the other girl is batch 1999 --- and I'm from batch 2012 (You do the Math -- rolls eyes. haha)
I was soo excited once we arrived in Geneva, Like you can easily see the excitement on my face ( Sorry no picture for that.hehe)
We checked in at Grand Kempinski Hotel ...
It's a very good thing that the hotel encourages guests to go out and explore their city, as they provide free tickets/pass (whatever it's called) for a boat ride going to the other side of the lake (trying to save electric bill perhaps? hmmm? ahahha. Don't mind me, I'm crazzy!)
Right after freshening up, and changing my uniform for a casual wear, 'Went to my colleague's room to ask her if she finally made up her mind to go out (BY THE WAY, THEY SPEAK FRENCH IN GENEVA, NOT EVERYONE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH, PLUS IT'S MY FIRST TIME, I WAS BEGGING HER IF WE COULD JUST GO OUT FOR LIKE 2 HRS, JUST 2 HRS TO EXPLORE GENEVA FOR LIKE 2 STRAIGHT DAYS NOW-- CONSTANTLY ON THE FLIGHT. 'NEVER WENT OUT ON A LAYOVER ALONE, SO I WAS LIKE BEGGING HER TO COME WITH ME, AND SHE WAS LIKE --- "SORRY MY DEAR, BUT I'M NOT FEELING REALLY WELL" ugh! you could have just told me that you got no plans on going out because you really don't feel like it, plus your trolley only contains "A" pair of pajamas that will last you for 3 poop-y days. ooh stress ka te!)
'Remembered what my mom told me not to go out alone, most specially that it was my very first time on that country --- But my rebel side just took charge at that moment and I was like 'I AM GOING OUT' , and the other crew was shocked, responded with 'JUST YOU? BUT YOU ARE ALONE' answered her back with 'YEAH JUST ME CUZ YOU'RE NO GOOD FOR FUN' just kidding, ahhaa. answered her back with 'YEAH JUST ME' smiled. then went off.
I remember having second thoughts --- to back out once I was at the hotel lobby, ohh well There's always a first time for everything :)
So, uhh-- it was very hard for me to take photos and selfies (lol) since no one's with me, BUT I DID TRY TO ASK PEOPLE TO TAKE PHOTOS FOR ME, BUT IT WAS A TOTAL FAIL, IF THE PIC AIN'T BLURRY, THEN MY EYES ARE CLOSED, OR FINGER'S STICKING OUT ON THE SCREEN, I DON'T HAVE THE NERVE TO BE LIKE 'no, one more time, you didn't take the picture right' (That's rude, so i took videos instead)
This is the boat ride that I've been telling ya ..
Boat ride from Paquis to Molard
Luckily, there were some Filipinos who are working in the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION on that trip (Thank God!) they get to stay in Geneva for just 3wks as they are on a conference that happens yearly. After the boat ride, they guided me about the whereabouts on the area.
'Followed their advice about the old town, and look at the stuff that I saw! Geneva is a combination of Roma and Germany, based on my observation. I mean the architecture plus the cultural atmosphere of their landscapes. (Yesss!! Carla Javier Domingo --Major in Pa- cute and Architecture. Wenk! Wenk)
Most of the flight attendants that I know always have their picture taken on the Flower Clock as the highlight of their visit in Geneva, and as a person who has respects for traditions, I also want to have my picture taken on the most loved Flower Clock of the crews in our airline (wenk, wenk) Believe me, I was very excited to see its beauty. It's like a must have on my checklist on Geneva, lol.
Here are a few spots before reaching "THE" Flower Clock ...
And now, presenting -- Ze famous and OVER RATED Flower Clock! (drumrolls please?)
TADAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
A bit disapointed though :( But hey! on the brighter side, there's a tall ROLEX building right infront of the flower clock. haha. Aaaaahhhh ROLEX, see u in my dreams. ahhaha
Since I failed on taking pictures of myself with the tourist spots, 'Managed to have a selfie. (oha! ako pa!) hihi
I looked weird here though
Now here's a short clip about the scenery that I have to pass by as I go back to the hotel ..
I am very vain by nature, so please do forgive me for leaving this article with another selfie that I had when I reached my home base from Geneva- Jeddah. hihi.
ONCE AGAIN, THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY BLOG GUYS!! xx
